Contraindications & Aftercare

Waxing

Contraindications for Waxing include but are not limited to: :
‍*Accutane in the past 12 months
*Sunburn
*Peeling skin
*Use of tanning beds 48 hours prior to waxing
*If you are receiving cancer therapy (Chemotherapy or Radiation)
*Do not use Retinol, Retin-A, Retinoid, & Vitamin A products a minimum for 7 days before & after a waxing service
*Open skin and/ or wounds
*Topical Cortisone
*Received a Chemical Peel or HydraFacial or Facial or any professional skincare treatments in the past 7 days
*Received laser resurfacing in the past 30 days
*Please consult your Dermatologist if you are taking any medications or using any topical cream that contains these
medications. Adapalene, Alustra, Avage, Avita, Differin Gel, Isotretinoin, Renova, Tazarac, Tazarotene, Tretinoin.
*For prescribed creams like Retin-A or Differin, we advise that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax reservation and to not resume use until 7 days after your wax service
*Antibiotic use of any kind (Topical or Oral) in the past 2 weeks
*Do not use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Lactic, Glycolic) or Beta Hydroxy Acid (Salicylic) or Benzoyl Peroxide 5 days before & after

After Care for Waxing :
*Keep the area clean
*Avoid excessive sweating, friction or anything that can cause irritation for 48 hours
*No exfoliation for 48 hours after
*No sunbathing, swimming, exercise, tanning beds, working out for 48 hours after
*Wear loose clothing so that it does not rub against the treated area, tight clothing can cause irritation
*No steam room/saunas or any heat treatment for 48 hours after
*Avoid hot bath or hot showers for 48 hours after
*Do not touch or scratch the area after
*No make up except mineral for 48 hours after
*No perfume or perfumed lotions/self tanning products or deodorants for 48 hours after

Follow the exfoliating steps your Esthetician provided you with to prevent ingrown hairs.

HydraFacial

Contraindications for HydraFacial include but are not limited to: :
‍*Discontinue Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid for 4 days before & 7 days after
*No facial waxing for 7 days before & after
*Retin-A, Retinol, Retinoid, & Vitamin A type products must stop for a minimum of 7 days before & after
*Stop any topical acne medications for a minimum of 7 days before & after (ex. Differin Gel)
*Accutane in the past 12 months
*HIV, Lupus, Hepatitis, Scleraderma (ONLY if you are receiving Lymphatic Drainage during your HydraFacial)
*Active infection in the treatment area
*Melanoma or lesions suspected of malignancy
*Active sunburn or peeling
*Pregnancy or Breastfeeding
*Eczema, Dermatitis or Psoriasis in the treatment area
*Epilepsy (ONLY if you are receiving LED therapy during your HydraFacial)
*Botox and/ or Fillers in the past 14 days
*Peel in the past 30 days
*Facial in the past 14 days
*Laser treatments; wait until lesions heal & swelling and redness is resolved

Aftercare for HydraFacial:
*Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen everyday.
*Aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum
of 1 to 2 weeks pre- and post-treatment.
*Avoid the use of Retin-A type products pre- and post-treatment for 7 days.

Facials

Contraindications for Facials include but are not limited to: :
*Accutane in the past 12 months
*Retin-A, Retinol, Retinoid, & Vitamin A type products must stop for a minimum of 7 days before & after
*Stop any topical acne medications for a minimum of 7 days before & after (ex. Differin Gel)
*Discontinue Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid for 4 days before & 5 days after
*No facial waxing for 5 days before & after
*Active infection in the treatment area
*Eczema, Dermatitis or Psoriasis in the treatment area
*Melanoma or lesions suspected of malignancy
*Active sunburn or peeling
*Pregnancy (Pregnancy safe facials that we offer: Cucumber Avocado Refresher Facial & O2 Lift Treatment)
*Botox and/ or Fillers in the past 14 days
*Peel in the past 30 days
*Facial in the past 14 days

Aftercare for Facials:
*Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen everyday.

Contraindications for Peels include but are not limited to: :
*No facial waxing for 7 days before or after

*Retin-A, Retinol, Retinoid, & Vitamin A type products must stop for a minimum of 7 days before & after
*Stop any acne medications for 7 days before & after (ex. Differin Gel)
*Eczema, Dermatitis or Psoriasis in the treatment area
*Discontinue Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid for 4 days before & 7 days after
*Pregnancy or Breastfeeding
*Botox and/ or Fillers in the past 14 days
*Facial in the past 14 days
*HydraFacial, Chemical Peel, Laser resurfacing or any other professional skin treatment in the past 30 days

Aftercare for Peels:
Avoid:
Direct sun exposure and wear sunscreen daily for 2 weeks post peel.
Exercise for 24-72 hours post peel, depending on the strength of treatment.
Steam & hot water.
Waxing and the use depilatories for 7 days post peel.
Injections wait two weeks post peel.
Laser treatments & microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post peel.
Swimming & sauna use for at least 7 days post peel.
Do not:
Vigorously rub the skin
Don't use any type of retinol or prescription retinoids for minimum of 7 days. if you are peeling wait until all peeling has stopped before doing any kind of exfoliating.
Use a mechanical scrub or chemical exfoliates for minimum of 7 days. If you are peeling wait until all peeling has stopped before doing any kind of exfoliating.
Pick at any flaking or sloughing, as it may cause scarring.

Lash Lift

Contraindications for Lash Lifts include but are not limited to:
*Eye infections
*Eczema, Dermatitis or Psoriasis in the treatment area
*Recent eye surgery- within 6 months
*Allergy to Lash Lift Solutions
*Very sensitive eyes
* Very watery eyes
*Eye stye
*Pregnancy- first trimester

Aftercare for Lash Lifts:
‍*Avoid water or steam on lashes for 24 hours post-treatment
*Avoid shampoo, make-up removers, creams, eye serums on the lash/eye area for 24 hours post-treatment
*Avoid Waterproof mascara
*Do not use an eyelash curler
*Do not rub or play with your lashes

*Brush lashes daily with a soft lash brush (we have them for purchase)

Celluma LED Therapy

‍Contraindications for Celluma LED Therapy include but are not limited to:
*Epilepsy
*History of seizures
*Skin cancer in treatment area
*Tumor in treatment area
*Steroids
*Photosensitive medications
*Pregnant

* Recent permanent make up (must be healed by 6 weeks)
* Sunburn
*Windburn
* Ultra-sensitive skin
* Pink eye
* Scar Tissue in treatment area
* Pregnant/ breastfeeding
* Retinol, Retin-A, AHA, BHA ( 7 days before and after)
* Extremely Curly brows
* Very sparse brows

Aftercare for Brow Laminations:
*Do not wet your eyebrows for 24 hours
*Avoid touching the brow area at the risk of transferring oils
*Avoid applying makeup to the brows for 24 hours post-treatment
*Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliate the brow area for 72 hours before or after the treatment
*No self- tanner products should be used on the face for at least 48 hours post treatment
